Poncho wins 3rd National Rally
The 3rd National Rally held in Chisamba over the weekend was won Paul Monge, popularly known as ‘Chimbwi No Plan’. Poncho and Ray Thornicroft driving a Subaru Imprezza N12b posted a time of 1:10:20. The Alios Finance sponsored driver found it plain sailing because the competition was not as stiff as expected, because the defending National Champion Muna Singh was not racing, while Mohammed Essa in a Madison Racing Subaru Imprezza N10 despite putting up a gallant fight, driving under constant Medic supervision the entire race after failing ill the previous night after Saturday’s super special. He ultimately fell out of contention during the second run of Chaloshi stage where he snapped a timing belt.
Ashish Patel and Shital Patel come out an impressive second despite the fact that their driving a Subaru imprezza N6 which is totally under powered compared to versions like N8, N10, and the monstrous power under the hood of the N12B driven by Poncho. They pair posted a time of 1:18:39. Below are the full classified results.
Upcoming driver Jassy Singh took fourth position despite taking maximum penalties for not starting the special stage on Saturday because his car had no brakes.
